Making the Grade

The grading system in math is a weighted one. Here is how it works:

HOMEWORK = 20% of your final grade

You get full credit for homework if you complete it, show your work, and miss less than half. If you miss more than half, you will have to redo the ones you miss. You get full credit for redos.

QUIZZES = 30% of your final grade

There will be a quiz once a week. I always let you know ahead of time when the quiz will be...NO POP QUIZZES! You will be able to retake a quiz.

TESTS = 50% of your final grade.

You must score at least an 80% on tests. If you have an off day and score below an 80%, you get to retake the test! Actually, regardless of what you score, you may retake any test, even if you score a 99%! Anyone who is retaking a test must complete the reteaching session which is done in class. Then the next day, we retake the test. I always take the higher of the two scores.
