September 3 -No school, Labor Day

September 7-Book orders due-checks are preferred, please write them to Scholastic  I’ll send them home next week

September 11-Picture Day (every child has their picture taken even if you don’t order any pictures)

September 11-5:30-7:30-Stoddard Carnival and 7:00-8:00-Open House in classrooms

Please bring your family to visit our classroom at Open House on September 11th from 7:00-8:00.  You can see what we’ve been up to these first few weeks in kindergarten.  You’ll understand why your child may be so tired after schoolJ

Please help your child practice writing their name with the first letter capital and the rest of the letters lower case!  THANKS!

Please help your child learn the lunch number I sent home on the first day of school!  About half of the class knows them!J  Also, please make sure they know each morning if they will be eating hot lunch (school lunch) or cold lunch (lunch packed from home) Thanks!

Please put your child’s name on the outside of their lunch box.  At least put their last name if you share them among siblings!  Several kids have the same lunch boxes and we can’t tell them apart until we open them!  Thank you!

If you’d like to send an extra set of clothes to keep at school you may put some in a large zip-lock bag with their name and we’ll keep them here.  These clothes are needed for various spills and accidents and may save you from leaving work to bring clothes!  As it gets cooler we can trade these for warmer clothes if you’d like.  Thank you.

Please remind your children to give me all papers, snacks, etc. at the beginning of the day.  I do not have a chance to go through all backpacks!

If you need to email me at school please put your child’s first and last name in the subject line.  I’m supposed to delete all messages if I don’t recognize whom they are from.  I do try to check my email every day but we are very busy in kindergarten and I don’t always get to it.  If you need to give me a message for that day please leave a message at the office.  My email address is jfrerichs@bpsne.org.  Also, if you have an email address you check regularly please give me your email address and I may email you info. or messages when needed.  Thanks!

We are in need of 22-snack size packages of M & M’s for a math activity.  If you are willing to donate these please let me know.  I need them by Friday, August 31st.  THANKS!

These first few weeks are a BIG adjustment so please keep in mind it is normal if your child is extra tired in the evenings!  It does get better over time!
