Introduction
I began teaching in the Beatrice Public School system in 1973. My first teaching experience was at the Beatrice Junior High School, where I taught seventh grade social studies, ninth grade geography and American History. After twelve years of teaching, I left the profession to stay at home with my children and my mother who suffered from Alzheimer's. Almost twenty years later, I returned to Beatrice High School in 2007 as a Language Arts Instructor. Contrary to popular belief, children have not really changed, they are simply more sophisticated.
