EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

GOLF:  at GI Invite, started at 9:00. 

TENNIS:  V & JV vs Wilber-Clatonia, will start as soon after 4:00 as possible (time change). 

SPRING CHORAL CONCERT:  7:00 in Hevelone Center.

JAZZ BAND:  at the elementaries and MS today.

 

ORANGE & BLACK:   Saturday at 6:00 p.m. starts in the O-Zone and moves to Hevelone Center about 7:15-7:30. 

 

MEETINGS /DEADLINES: 

OPEN GYM:  after school tonight at 3:30 for anyone.

 

Attention Boys Track and Field Athletes:  not participating at Districts, turn in warm-ups AND uniforms to Coach Cerny, Friday this week.   The boys track and field team will meet in Coach Cerny's room after school.  All team members should attend for a brief meeting.  A meeting with state qualifiers will follow

Attention Girls Track and Field Athletes:  Mrs. Mahoney will be in Rm 110 after school on Friday to accept in girls gear AND to have a short meeting with all of you.

 

BOYS SOCCER:  Turn in gear Friday, May 9th after school, Seniors first, working down to the Freshmen.  Uniforms must be clean and folded.  Bag should be wiped out.  $50 fine if not turned in.  (Blackwell)

 

SCHOOL-TO-CAREER:   Green Wage Forms are due to Mr. Campbell TODAY.  All students must sign their 4th quarter Employer Evaluations.  Get this done with Mr. Campbell ASAP.

Results of the Student Council election on Wednesday.  Eight people will represent their class.  Ethan Schlueter will join the council as the board of education representative.

The first meeting for this council will be Wednesday, May 14 in room 233 at 3:30 p.m.  We will elect officers this day.  Those who wish to run for president or vice-president must have been a member previously for one year and must notify a sponsor no later than May 13 of your desire to seek office.  The offices of secretary, treasurer, and attendance secretary are open to all members without previous notice.  Thank you to all who were on the ballot; congratulations to those who will be student representatives next year. Congratulations to the following boys for qualifying for the State Track and Field Meet:  Cory Sugden and Tommie Bardsley in the high jump.  Tommie also in the triple jump.  Ben Paben and Jordan Rector in the 3200.  Ben also in the 1600.  And finally the 3200m Relay team of Jason Haddix, Ted Fischer, Jordan Rector and Ben Paben.

 

Congratulations to the girls track and field team for earning runner-up at yesterday's district meet.  Event winners were: Kayla Busboom in the triple jump with a new freshmen record of 35'6.5" and Gemma Pretzer in the 100, 200 and 400.  Steph Rudder placed 4th in the pole vault and tied the freshmen record with a vault of 9'.  State qualifiers are:  Gemma Pretzer in the 100, 200, 400; Kayla Busboom in the long and triple jumps; Holly Bishop in the discus; Shelby Walton in the pole vault; Steph Rudder in the 100 hurdles; Lindsey Fujan in the 300 hurdles; the 3200 relay of Taylor Garton, Kristina Wilson, Kelsey Schlake and Laura Jantz, and the 400 relay of Kasen Lee, Kelsie Post, Ambrel Fakler and Gemma Pretzer.  Great job to everyone!  Coach Mahoney

 

TENNIS GIRLS:  Any who have not paid must do so or will not play tonight.  Your names will be added to the fine and fee list if you do not pay.    (Cook)

 

O-ZONEwill be closed for A-lunch until further notice. 

 

FINES & FEE LIST:  NOT ONLY SENIORS but all students need to begin checking the fines and fees list at the main office to get them taken care of.  There is no reason to leave this to the last days. 

 

FLAG CORPS:  brief mandatory meeting on Tuesday in the band room at 7:45 for all girls that made the flag corps.

 

VOLLEYBALL:  All forms are due today.  Get them to one of your coaches. (Doyle-Workman)

 

BHS ATHLETES:  planning on using the weight room this summer needs to sign up for a time with Mr. Sexton before the end of the school year.

 

FOOD DRIVE:  Beatrice Good Samaritan Home is sponsoring a “Love Your Community” drive to help re-stock St. John Lutheran’s Food Pantry and would like our help.  BRING any of the following to the main office, Monday – Thursday next week:  Canned Fruit & Vegetables, Tuna, Soups, Tuna & Hamburger Helpers, Pancake Mix, Syrup, Graham Crackers, etc.   Thank you.
