EVENTS & ACTIVITIES: Friday

TENNIS:  at Tranquility Park for Elkhorn Invite.  Leaving about 6:30 a.m. to start play at 9:00 a.m.

DISTRICT SOFTBALL:  at Plum Creek Park in Seward to play.  Dismiss at 10:00 to depart at 10:15.  First game starts at 1:00.

FOOTBALL:  hosting Lincoln Pius at 7:00.  Parents night for football, band and cheerleaders.  Seniors and their parents will be specially recognized. 

 

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES: Saturday

All-State Music Auditions – in Crete, Beatrice auditions in the morning. 

 

MEETINGS /DEADLINES

STUDENTS ATTENDING HOME CONTESTS:  Students are not permitted to enter, leave and return multiple times during the football game.  Once you choose to leave the football game you will not be readmitted.  This includes going to the Youth Center or to your car.

 

NHS STUDENTS:Tshirts will be ordered Friday after school.  If you want a shirt you must sign up in Mr. Post's office and pay $7.25 before the end of this Friday. 

 

WORLD LANGUAGE CLUB: members please sign up in Señora Matson's room for the outing Oct. 17th by Friday of this week.  You also need to pick up a sheet.

CONGRATULATIONS to the Boys & Girls Cross Country teams.  The boys won the RCC Championship and the girls placed runner-up.  Medaling for the boys were:  Matt Dunker – 4th, Devin Ratigan – 7th and Lucas Martin – 9th.  Medaling for the girls were Jessica Pinkerton – 4th and Taylor Garton – 5th

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the Softball team for “stayin’ alive”.  Only Norris, Pius and Seward stand between you and State.  Go get them!

 

SPECIAL OLYMPICS BOWLING:  if eligible and interested, please stop by Rm 119 to get the informational sheet from Mrs. Murphy.

 

Beatrice Public Schools Essential Behavior Skills Program:   This week we are stressingRESPECT.  This week's skill is "ACCEPT INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES."

 

Scholarships, Classes & Deadlines:

The University of Missouri College of Business provides scholarships to qualified students.  If interested visit www.business.missouri.edu

 

Northwest Missouri State University Department of Psychology, Sociology, and Counseling will host an undergraduate conference on November 14, 2008.  If interested, register at  http://www.nwmissouri.edu/dept/mupc/index.htm by October 31, 2008.

 

Blue Valley Community Action sponsors a scholarship.  More information is available in Student Services or on-line at:  www.bvca.net  Deadline is February 2, 2009.

 

US Bank offers a scholarship program that provides scholarships to students through a random drawing process.  If interested, please access on line at:  usbank.com/studentbanking   Deadline is February, 2009.
