The competition included all 525 students at the middle school taking an initial 40 question geography “quiz” in their social studies classroom. The top students in each of the six core teams advanced to the second round of questions. After the second round, seven students remained in the competition. The seven students who advanced to the final were Josh Crim, Connor Husa, Kaylin Hagemeier, Hunter Cook, Trey Cossel, Holly Irmer, and Jake Meyer.

The final round consisted of each student answering an individual question from the National Geographic Bee question booklet. When a student had missed two questions, they were eliminated from the competition. Trey finished as our overall champion for Beatrice Middle School. Trey will be given a final test which will determine if he qualifies for the state competition later in the school year.

Good job Trey and to all of the finalists who participated. Beatrice Middle School is proud of the accomplishments made by students.
