This will allow your thank you to begin to fill the space on the card rather than becoming a one sentence, run-on wonder.
EVENTS & ACTIVITIES -
SWIM & DIVE: hosting Lincoln NorthStar at the YMCA starting at 4:30. Dismiss after 7th period.
WRESTLING: hosting Tri County starting at 7:00, Senior Parents Recognition Night
FYI - CANCELLATION: 9th grade girls basketball game scheduled for Friday (1-29) AT Skutt, has been cancelled. The JV will play at 5:45, and the varsity at 7:30pm as scheduled.
MEETINGS /DEADLINES:
ART CLUB: meeting tonight at 3:30 in Rm 24. Make plans to attend. (Dungan)
PARENT COUNCIL – POST-PROM and POST-GRAD committees meeting tonight at 5:30 in the commons area.

Attention ALL PLASTIC RECYCLERS. Please empty your bottles BEFORE recycling. Please put the caps back on - - we are getting a lot of liquid messes in our recycling bins. (Cerny)
KEY CLUB: Yearbook picture, Friday during Mentor, in the O-Zone, wear your club shirt. (Buchholz/Fakler)
FINE ARTS BOOSTER CLUB’s 2nd annual Chili Cook Off is Saturday from 5:30-7:30 in the BHS commons area in conjunction with the Ralston Basketball game this Saturday. $5.00 for all you can eat chili or chicken noodle soup.
SCIENCE CLUB FEBRUARY MEETING is Tuesday, February 2, in the Ozone at 7:45 a.m. ONLY. We will be taking pictures for the yearbook. Please wear your red Science Club shirt or a plain red shirt.
SPRING PLAY AUDITIONS: after school all next week. Play revolves around a humorous look at Greek Mythology. Pick up audition information from Mrs. Hubka.
JOIN THE CIRCUS!: if you are 16 years of age or older you may apply to work at the Shrine Circus over spring intercession (March 17 – 21) selling Sno Cones or Cotton Candy, nine performances, you will be paid per tray sold. Applications are available in the main office. More information available from Jim Bowers at 228-2308.
LOST & FOUND: on a table in the main office, includes 2 newer winter coats that will need to be described to be claimed. Please come in to see if your lost items have been turned in.
Beatrice Public Schools Essential Behavior Skills Program: This week we are stressing RESPONSIBILITY. This week's skill is "ACCEPT NO FOR AN ANSWER."
NO BACKPACKS in the cafeteria lines during lunch or breakfast.
NO FOOD outside the Commons Area.
WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN and WELL: still our best way to combat the spread of germs.

NEW SCHOLARSHIP!! The Goble family will provide for a scholarship for a student interested in pursuing a degree in Agriculture/Business. To apply for the Eldon and Frances Goble Agriculture/Business Scholarship, please add it to the Local Scholarship application, and check mark it. Due date is February 15 for the Local Scholarship application.
Kohl’s sponsors the Kohl’s Kids Who Care Scholarship Program. Students may request to be nominated if they are between the ages of 6 and 18 and who have been outstanding volunteers. More information available at: www.kohlskids.com and click on the tool kit link. Deadline is March 15, 2010.
The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors-Cornhusker offers scholarships for students interested in education, business/management/finance, marketing/sales, or actuarial studies with preference given to those who attend an institution in Nebraska. Deadline is March 1, 2010.
The Nebraska Writing Project sponsors the Poetry of Place Celebration that is to reflect life in Nebraska. Students in grades one through twelve are eligible. Nebraska teachers may submit the poetry of four students per school. The exact specifics of the entries is available on-line at: www.unl.edu/newp Deadline is March 26, 2010.
JUNIOR BOYS interested in attending Cornhusker Boys State this summer should stop by Student Services and pick up an application. The applications are due March 1st. If you have questions see Mr. Post.
