Introduction
I was born on August 26, 1981, in Beatrice, Nebraska. My parents are Stirling and Mary Glenn. I have two younger twin brothers, Adam and David, who are currently attending college at Peru State College. I went to school in Beatrice, Nebraska, until eighth grade and then transferred to Pawnee City, Nebraska, where I graduated from high school in 2000. Attending both a larger and smaller school was a good experience because I was able to see the differences between the two. In high school I participated in athletics, band, speech, school plays, and several extra-curricular organizations. Since I was a little girl, all I have ever wanted to be is a teacher. When my friends and I would get together, instead of playing dolls we would play "school." I would love standing next to the chalkboard, carefully writing the spelling words or putting a math problem on the board for others to figure out. But, the best part of playing teacher was when one of my "students" had a question and I was there to help them figure out the answer. My father is a high school English teacher and ever since I was a young child I have enjoyed going to his classroom and sitting behind his desk and pretending that I was the teacher. One of my favorite days when I was younger was "bring your daughter to work day" where I would be able to sit next to my dad and watch him teach his students everything from paragraphs to Shakespeare. After high school I attended UNL for three years and then transferred to Peru State College, where I graduated in December of 2004 with a degree in Secondary English Education. I completed my student teaching at Beatrice High School and was then able to step in and teach part- time at Beatrice the following semester. I then took a teaching job in Tarkio, Missouri, for a year, and then came back to Beatrice the following year, because as luck would have it, there was an English opening. Currently, I teach at Beatrice High School. I teach Freshmen English, which is in a block schedule, and I also teach Forensics, Reality in Literature, Adolescent Literature, and Advanced Composition.
