This is our Apple Block Quilt that we created on Friday for our classroom art project.  We learned how to cut a square into two triangles.

This week we continued to review our kindergarten sight words and reviewed our letters and sounds.  We started reading rebus sentences with many of these words.  Our word family this week was the 'at' family.  Each student was put into a small group for rotations.  One group is with Mrs. Meyer, one with Mrs. Thimm, and the other goes to stations.  We rotated every 15 minutes.  We have 6 stations open.  They are alphabet, math, reading, computer, folder games/pocket chart, and writing.

In math we worked on patterns, graphs, and counting objects to 10.  We also do our monthly calendar books at this time.  We have an Interwrite Board in our room this year, which we use a lot for our calendar activities.

In science we talked about living and nonliving.  We learned what plants and animals need  to live.

We also started going to the library this week.  We check out books on Monday.  They can return the book whenever they are done with it.
