MANNERS  for TODAY:   from HOW RUDE! By Dr. Alex J. Packer

MUSIC CONCERTS approaching:  Sometimes individual musicians will rotate solos.  You can applaud after each improvisation or offering – even if the piece is still being played by the others.  It is also acceptable to applaud when artists begin playing songs they have made famous. 

 

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES  -  

RESERVE BOYS BB:  at Lincoln High for a 7:00 tip-off

 

MEETINGS /DEADLINES

SCIENCE CLUB MEMBERS: Please sign up to sell poinsettias. Sign up shift sheet outside Rm 204. We start tonight!

 

FRUIT DELIVERY will be today at 3:30 pm. Science Club members and Skills USA members need to make arrangements to pick up and deliver the orders tonight. (Christen)

 

SCHOOL-TO-CAREER:  Work Hour forms for last week are due to Mr. Campbell TODAY!

 

KEY CLUB:   Kids Against Hunger Field trip scheduled for Wednesday morning has been post-poned due to possible weather conditions.  We will reschedule the trip after the Christmas break.  Also, there will be no Key Club meeting today after school.

CONGRATULATIONS to the One-Act Play cast and crew on their superior rating at districts on Saturday.  Also to Steven Roberts for receiving outstanding actor.  NICE WORK!  (Hubka)

 

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE ORANGEMEN WRESTLING TEAM on winning the Pius Dual Tournament Championship.  Individual Champions were:  Jesse Hinz, KC Block, and Chris Crosby.  Also Jesse Hinz was named the meets most outstanding wrestler and Jesse earned his 100th career victory.

 

MADRIGAL TICKETS are currently on sale in the high school office.  Tickets are $12.50.  The event is Thursday Dec. 10 and Friday Dec. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Classic's.

 

SPEECH TEAM:  If interested in participating, please contact Mr. Ankrom.  More info and dates will become available.

 

ART CLUB meeting after school on Thursday, December 10th. (Dungan)

 

COATS FOR KIDS:  Intro to Human Resources/Services class is sponsoring a coat drive.  Please bring gently used, clean coats of any size.  Collection boxes are located in the main office, media center and Rm 125.  Now thru December 18th

 

FYI:  NEBR. SCHOOL BOARD ASS’N REPRESENTATIVE, MARSHA HERRING was scheduled to  meet with interested persons regarding the new Superintendent search.  That meeting has been moved from Wednesday, December 9th to Thursday, December 10th in respect to the possible weather moving into our area.  The meetings will follow the same schedule as previously announced. 

 

FINES & FEES:  need to be collected before you will be rewarded with OPEN CAMPUS during finals.  Please check to see if you are on the fines & fee lists.  Now would be a good time to get off, before the list is posted.  Students with Library Overdue Notices should still go to the Library to be cleared, or you will remain on the list for fines also. 

 

Beatrice Public Schools Essential Behavior Skills Program:   This week we are stressingFAIRNESS.  This week's skill is "DO YOUR BEST.  DO YOUR PART."

 

NO BACKPACKS  in the cafeteria lines during lunch or breakfast.    

NO FOOD outside the Commons Area, not even to take outside.

WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN and WELL:  still the best way to combat the spread of germs.

 

Scholarships, Classes & Deadlines:

Additional INFO on any of the above is available from the Student Services Office.

JUNIOR GIRLS:  You can pick up an application for Girl’s State from the Student Services office if you didn’t get one from the presentations in Mr. Week’s classes.  See Mrs. Meyer in Student Services with questions.
