EVENTS & ACTIVITIES -
AMC MATH COMPETITION: today during early out periods 1-4 in the commons area. Freshman and sophomores are testing during periods 1 and 2, juniors and seniors will be testing during periods 3 and 4. (Ankrom)
MEETINGS /DEADLINES:
SPRING SPORTS PARENT-COACHES MEETING: 7:00 in the Hevelone Center
SPEECH: Practice at 3:45 today.
NO SPRING PLAY practice today.
FALL CHEER & WINTER DANCE TRYOUTS: The parent meeting for prospective cheerleaders and dance team members scheduled for tonight at 5:30 has been cancelled.
KEY CLUB: Today is the last day to bring your $10 to Mrs. Fakler for the Kids Against Hunger T-shirts.
BOYS SOCCER: meeting in the library at noon for all interested in playing boys soccer this spring. If you plan to play you should attend. (Wells)
GIRLS TENNIS: Any girl planning to go out for girls tennis, please meet in Mr. Junkers Room 110, today
after classes dismiss at 11:45. (Cook)

Tryouts for 2010-2011 Dance team, Fall Cheerleading, and Winter Cheerleading will be held on March 8. Practice for the tryouts will be March 6. Any student interested in trying out needs to sign up by March 3rd. Packets are available in the office. Questions about tryouts can be directed to Mrs. Wendie Meyer for dance, and to Mrs. Kari Murray for cheer.
PIONEER STAFF requests pictures during mentor on the following days for the following teams:
1. Cheerleaders on competitons squad and all the dance team members who competed in state to meet in the commons for a picture on Thursday after school at 3:45 p.m.
1. all wrestlers who competed at state on Friday during mentor for a picture.
2. all boys and girls basketball players and swimmers/divers who are competing at STATE this week to report to the commons during mentor Monday, March 1st for a picture.
SOPHOMORES: remember to sell your Deli International fund raisers. They are due to Mr. Meyer by Friday, Feb 26th.
FROSH: registration sheets are due to your counselor Friday. Talk to core teachers about recommended classes.
BOYS BASEBALL: meeting Friday, February 26th in Mr. Ekarts room 228, 4:00pm
HOMESTEADER YEARBOOKS being reserved over lunch all week - $60. (Buchholz)
POST PROM: Purchase your Post-prom admission and T-shirts Friday during all lunches, (table will again be set up). The cost is $20. (Fakler)
Beatrice Public Schools Essential Behavior Skills Program: This week we are stressingTRUSTWORTHINESS. This week's skill is "FOLLOW THROUGH ON COMMITMENTS."
HANDBOOKS: Students need to carry their handbooks with them anytime they leave the classroom. $2 to replace.
NO BACKPACKS in the cafeteria lines during lunch or breakfast.
NO FOOD outside the Commons Area.
WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN and WELL: still our best way to combat the spread of germs.
Scholarships, Classes & Deadlines:

There will be a representative from Northwest Missouri State University on Thursday. If you are interested in visiting with this representative, please leave your name with Student Services.
Peru State College offers music scholarships: Clements Band Scholarship and Helen Naeve Douglas Music Scholarship for music education. Competitive auditions will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Deadline is March 12, 2010.
The Nebraska Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon at UN-L awards the Balanced Man Scholarship to students who show a strong commitment to personal and academic development. Deadline is March 15, 2010.
The Nebraska Coaches Association provides for a scholarship for student athletes in the top 25% of their class who has participated in two sports for two years, and lettered in both. Deadline is March 26, 2010.
The Carriage House Foundation provides for a scholarship program for students attending a Nebraska community college to study in an automotive related field. Deadline is April 2, 2010.
