EVENTS & ACTIVITIES - Friday
GIRLS DISTRICT BASKETBALL: vs Lincoln Pius at 7:00 p.m. for District Championship. Games are at Lincoln High, 2229 J Street. Parking is in the North or South parking lots. Enter the west or east side of the gym hallway. Student seating will be on the West side – North end. Adults will be seated on the East side – North end. Admission: $5 adults, $4 students (K-12) No ticket pre-sales. No noisemakers permitted. Spectators are expected to stay off the playing floor at all times.
PERU MATH DAY: All Day
EVENTS & ACTIVITIES - Friday & Saturday
ALL CLASS - STATE SWIMMING: Friday is split into boys program in the a.m. and girls program in the p.m. at the Devany Center. Those boys making the top 16 will advance to Saturday starting at 11:00 televised on NETV. Each event will be swam off as: girls consolation, girls finals, boys consolation, boys finals. Beatrice Co-op has boy swimmers in all three relays, the 200 individual medley, the 200 and 500 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke.

DISTRICT SPEECH: at Lincoln East, load at 6:45 to depart at 7:00 a.m.
DRUMLINE/FLAGS: at Plattsmouth in the a.m. and Bellevue West in the p.m.
LIMITED EDITION SHOW CHOIR: at Grand Island Show Choir competition all day
MEETINGS /DEADLINES:
ALL 5 WRESTLERS who competed at state please report to the commons now for a yearbook picture.
NEW REQUEST: All Winter ColorGuard-Flag members, please report at this time also.
OPEN GYM: Open gym tonight for anyone interested in “kicking around the rock” 6:00 – 7:30 in the O-Zone. (Coach Wells.)
ART CLUB OFFICERS meeting after school in the art room. (Dungan)
HOMESTEADER YEARBOOKS being reserved over lunch all week – no extras will be ordered - $60 – deadline for ordering is today. (Buchholz)
POST PROM: Purchase your Post-prom admission and T-shirt during all lunches today, (table will again be set up). Think ahead – are you bringing your date to post-prom. The cost is $20. (Fakler)
SOPHOMORES: Deli International fund raisers are due to Mr. Meyer end of day, TODAY.
GIRLS SOCCER: any who signed up for a sweatshirt must turn their $23 in by the end of today (Friday). Please give to either Mrs. Lineweber at the front window or to one of the seniors.
FROSH: registration sheets due to counselors by end of today. Talk to core teachers about recommended classes.
BOYS BASEBALL: meeting tonight in Mr. Ekarts room 228, 3:45 p.m.
BOYS SOCCER: athletes & parents are reminded of the ice cream social in FCS Rm 121 on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. to meet and greet the new soccer coach, Cory Wells.

Tryouts for 2010-2011 Dance team, Fall Cheerleading, and Winter Cheerleading will be held on Monday, March 8. Packets are available in the office. Any student interested in trying out needs to sign up by Wednesday, March 3rd. Practice for the tryouts will be Saturday, morning March 6. Questions about tryouts Mrs. Wendie Meyer for dance, and to Mrs. Kari Murray for cheer.
PIONEER STAFF requests pictures following days for the following teams: all boys and girls basketball players and the swimmers/divers who are competing at STATE today to report to the commons during mentor Monday, March 1st for a picture.
GIRLS TENNIS: will meet in Mr. Junker’s Rm. 110, Monday right after school. 1/2 hour meeting then we will be heading to the courts. Dress warmly. (Coach Cook)
BOYS GOLF: will meet in Mr. Junker’s Rm. 110, Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. (Coach Stuart)
TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES: Practice will start next Monday @ 3:50pm. Please report to the Middle School Gym. Due to a water main issue on 4th Street please park in the administration parking lot. (Coach Cerny)
JUNIORS: ASVAB testing for all 11th graders is Wednesday (March 3) Please find what room you will be testing in before that morning. Testing begins at 8:12. You will get some reliable career information as a result of this testing.
Beatrice Public Schools Essential Behavior Skills Program: This week we are stressingTRUSTWORTHINESS. This week's skill is "FOLLOW THROUGH ON COMMITMENTS."
HANDBOOKS: Students need to carry their handbooks with them anytime they leave the classroom. $2 to replace.
NO BACKPACKS in the cafeteria lines during lunch or breakfast.
NO FOOD outside the Commons Area.
WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN and WELL: still our best way to combat the spread of germs.

CHANGED FROM WHEN PUBLISHED IN FINANCIAL AID/SCHOLARSHIP BOOKLET: The Kiwanis-Dean Brandt/Ralph Roszell Scholarship has been changed to be a one-time scholarship of $1,000 and will now be available to a student furthering his/her education in a Nebraska two or four year school. Preference will be given to Southeast Community College students.
There will be a representative here from UN-L on Tuesday. If you would like to visit with this representative, please stop by Student Services and leave your name.
The Gus Swanson Communications Scholarship is available to a student enrolled in a Nebraska school pursuing a degree in advertising, marketing, mass communications, communication studies, public relations, journalism or graphic design/desktop publishing. Deadline is April 15.
Student Insights is a market research firm helping colleges and universities communicate more effectively with high school seniors. Students may log on to www.student-view.com and complete a survey about colleges in your area. A scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications. More information is available at www.studentinsights.com Deadline is April 22, 2010.
Vesper Chapter #9 of Beatrice will offer an Eastern Star Scholarship to a student who best exemplifies good citizenship and high moral character. Deadline is April 1, 2010.
