EVENTS & ACTIVITIES -
ASVAB testing for all 11th graders should be finished now.
MEETINGS /DEADLINES:
Tryouts for 2010-2011 Dance team, Fall and Winter Cheerleading will be held on Monday, March 8. Practice on Saturday, March 6. TODAY is last day to sign up and receive your instruction packet from the main office.
BOYS GOLF: will meet in Mr. Junker’s Rm. 110, tonight at 3:45 p.m. (Coach Stuart)
BOYS BASEBALL: same practice plan as yesterday.
GIRLS TENNIS: out at Hannibal again as the weather holds.

CONGRATS TO JACE BOWHAY AND CODY WALTERS for breaking school records in their respective weight classes. Jace broke the Hang Clean record with 1 rep record of 275 pounds and Cody with a 1 rep record of 350 in the Bench Press. (Sexton)
CONGRATS TO CODY MINOR, MITCH IRMER AND TAYLOR JURGENS for placing first as a team at the Peru Math Day competitions in their division, Pre-Calculas. Cody also placed first in his individual event with Mitch placing third, both still in the Pre Calc division. (Mick)
ABRAHAM INC: Come and hear a special concert by funk specialists Abraham Inc. on Friday, March 5th in the Hevelone Center, 5:30-6:00 for free. If anyone is interested there are a few spots available for an all expense paid trip to the Lied Center on Saturday, March 6th for a free meal and concert put on by Abraham Inc. See Mr. LeFeber if you are interested.
Girls Basketball State Tournament attendance. first game vs Gretna will be Thursday, 9:00am, in the Devaney Center. Due to the number of snow days we have already had, school will NOT be dismissed for the tournament. Students who wish to attend the game are expected to provide the school with parent permission prior to Thursday. Students are also expected to return to BHS by 1:00 p.m. or 6th period class. Permission can be in the form of a phone call or a note that is signed and dated by a parent. If a student does not provide this parent permission or does so after the absence, he or she will be counted truant. (Sutter/Randel)
DRIVERS ED: Nebr. Safety Council w/Mr. Bowers. March 18- 21 (intersession). $280 tuition. Forms in main office.
SCIENCE CLUB OFFICERS SELF-NOMINATIONS FOR 2010-2011 SCHOOL YEAR. President promotes from being Vice-President in current year, Vice-President must be a current sophomore. Secretary, Treasurer/Historian, and 2 recruitment officers can be this years’ freshmen, sophomores, or juniors. Write an essay about why you would make a good officer and why you want to be an officer. Give to Dr. Christen or Mrs. Moore by March 24th to be included on the April meeting ballot.
Beatrice Public Schools Essential Behavior Skills Program: This week we are stressingRESPECT. This week's skill is "ACCEPT AUTHORITY."
HANDBOOKS: Students need to carry their handbooks with them anytime they leave the classroom. $2 to replace.
NO BACKPACKS in the cafeteria lines during lunch or breakfast.
NO FOOD outside the Commons Area.
WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN and WELL: still our best way to combat the spread of germs.

JUNIORS: Do you plan to attend a 4 year college? You’ll need to take an ACT test. The April test date is a good one to consider. FRIDAY, March 5 is the deadline to mail your registration. Talk to your counselor for more details.
