ATTENTION - IMMUNIZATION CHANGES

The Nebraska State Legislature passed LB 464 which goes into effect on July 1, 2010, requiring incoming 7th grade students to show evidence of immunization with Tdap. The bill specifically identified tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis so there is no option to substitute Td or simply tetanus for this requirement. If someone is allergic to any component in pertussis, they will need to get a medical waiver from a doctor.

Please turn in a copy of your child’s immunization record along with their 7th grade physical to the Middle School nurse’s office. Make your appointment for the summer as early as possible to have the physical and immunization completed prior to the beginning of the 2010 – 2011 school year.
