Science Club Having Annual Flower Sale

Kyle Hasenkamp

The Science Club at BHS will be having its annual flower sale on May 3 and 4 from 4 pm - 6 pm

Geraniums, Petunias and Osteoperums will be for sale this year. The Geraniums will cost $5.00 a piece, the Petunias will be $3.00 for a 6-pack, and the Osteopermums will be sold individual, but the price is undecided for now. There will also be special species of flowers for sale such as Rave Petunias, which are petunias that spread and create a large mound. There will be approximately 500 Gernaniums and 150 Osteopermums.

The flower sales will be used for funding Science Club activities and maintaining the greenhouse and the arboretum, which are located behind the school.

Dr. Joan Christen, a science teacher and one of the Science Club sponsors, said the sale is a great project for the Science Club.

“It helps us meet our expenses and if we have extra flowers, we give it the assisted living,” she said. “It’s also part our community service we try to do in Science Club.”

For any questions about the sale, email Dr. Joan Christen at jchristen@bpsnebr.org
