Bank In Schools Program
Bank In Schools is an exciting program between participating area financial institutions and Beatrice public and private elementary schools that started this year.
These "banks" will be open for 30 minutes before school one day of the week, each week, for the entire school year. The banks will assist the K-5 students and parents in opening a savings account. When the student opens a savings account, the financial institution will provide a $5.00 voucher into the students account. The bank will pay their normal student savings account interest rates and provide savings account statements to each account holder.
Bank In Schools is a way to help teach our future generation about the importance of saving. It is important to help all students understand fiscal responsibility.
The pictures included in this article are from the Bank in Schools presentation at Lincoln Elementary. This was an assembly to educate students on the benefits of Bank in Schools. Each elementary student received a bag of shredded money.
Thank you to all participating financial institutions for helping us to help all students understand fiscal responsibility.
