A Reminder. . .
There is no adult supervision available before school until 8:20 am. If students are eating breakfast at school they may arrive at 8:00 am and go directly to the gym for breakfast. Those students not eating breakfast should not arrive at school before 8:20 am. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Lunch Money
Lunch money should be given to your child’s teacher. The teacher will send it to the office to make sure it is deposited to your child’s account. One check can be written for all children you have enrolled in the Beatrice Public Schools district, please make sure that you write each child’s name and the amount you want deposited in their account. Please make sure that the lunch money is in an envelope with the student’s name on it.
School Picture Retakes
LifeTouch will be here on Tuesday, October 31 for picture retakes. If you would like to have your child’s picture retaken, please send the packet you received to school with them. They can turn in that packet and have their picture retaken. If your student doesn’t have their packet, they cannot have their picture retaken.
October is a busy awareness month!
Among others celebrated, it is also Bully Awareness Month and Drug Free Awareness Month. The elementary schools take note of these two topics and discuss them with our students. We learn the difference between a bully and a conflict with a peer. We also learn what to do in case a bullying situation arises. Most importantly, we learn that we have the power to stop bullying. We also celebrate Red Ribbon week, which is a week dedicated to making people aware of the dangers of drug use and abuse. We learn about how to keep our lives drug free and what we will be able to accomplish with a healthy body. Our theme this year is "Your Future is Key, So Stay Drug Free."
We are going to be having some dress up days to help us celebrate these two important topics! Please keep in mind that the dress code stated in the handbook still applies to dress up days. Help your student celebrate by dressing up on the following days:
Monday, October 16 - Wake Up Drug Free (wear Pajamas to school)
Tuesday, October 17 - Bully Awareness Day (wear as much Blue as you can)
Wednesday, October 18 - Turn your back on Bullying and Drugs (wear your clothes inside out or backwards [just backward shirts please])
Thursday, October 19 - Red Ribbon Awareness (wear as much Red as you can)
(Friday, October 20 - No School)
End of Quarter
Wow! Where has the time gone? Thursday, October 19 is the end of the first quarter of school. Report cards will go home on Wednesday, October 25.
