CLASS COMPETITIONS: Junior class won last week’s competition with the fewest Fs in the intervention list. Leaderboard: Juniors are in the lead with 100 pts and freshmen have 50 pts.

JV GIRLS GOLF: Linc. Southwest Invite at Mahoney, started at 8:30 a.m.
TENNIS JV TRIANGULAR: hosting Waverly and York starting at 3:00 at our Hannibal Courts.
MUDECAS VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT: Area teams using our O-Zone tonight.

HOMESTEADER YEARBOOKS: if you ordered a book last year, and have not yet picked it up from the main office, please do so sometime this week. Also, if you have a graduated sibling who ordered one, please let them know they are here OR surprise them by signing for it yourself and taking it home for them.
KEY CLUB: stop by Mrs. Robeson’s Rm 214 for a membership sign-up form.

HOMESTEADER: Senior Pictures and Baby Pictures are due earlier this school year. Please get them in by Friday, November 1. Please send electronically to Ms. Glenn or bring to the classroom.
SCHOLARSHIPS, CLASSES & DEADLINES: Additional INFO in Student Services Office.
There will be a representative here from Wayne State College on Thursday. If you are interested in visiting with this representative, please stop by Student Services and leave your name.
Students wanting to take an ACT test, see your counselor for help registering. ACT will be here at BHS, Saturday, October 26, but you must sign up by September 20 (this Friday), to avoid a late fee.
The PSAT test will be Wednesday, October 16 during periods 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 and qualifying Sophomores and Juniors will be excused from those periods. The fee for taking the PSAT test is $16, we can provide fee waivers for students who qualify. See your school counselor with questions and to sign up (with your money). We are limited to 30 students taking to test so bring your money in asap. (Post/Prosowski)
UN-Kearney will host a Criminal Justice conference on September 30 and a Health Career Fair on Wednesday, October 2.

Beatrice High School Improvement Goals
During the 2019-20 school year, 60% of BHS juniors will receive a score of six (6) or higher on the ACT writing assessment.
By utilizing individual goal setting and tracking progress, BHS will work to improve student MAP assessment scores; with 70% of BHS students at grade level or higher at the end of the 2019-20 school year.
