Press Release by Masonic Lodge #26
The Beatrice Masonic Lodge #26 is pleased to announce the Lodge will be making available the Child Identification Program (CHIP) to Beatrice District 15 and parochial students in the second (2nd) grades on October 7th and Middle School sixth (6th) grade students on October 8th, 2019 at the District 15 Central Administration Building. Busing will be available for all 2nd grade students from their respective grade buildings.
The Masonic CHIP Kit is recognized by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as the most comprehensive service of its kind anywhere. CHIP is provided at no charge to the public and all of the identifying items generated during CHIP are given to the child's family. Parents or legal guardians must sign a permission form for children to participate in the program. In case of an event that we hope never arises, the items may be given to law enforcement to help find a missing child. Only the signed permission form is retained by the Masons of Nebraska.
The CHIP Kit includes: Digital Video Interview, Digital Fingerprints, and Digital Photograph all on a Thumb Drive. Tooth print bite impression, DNA Swab. Finally a Scent Pad (to be done at home). Assistance from the dental field for the tooth prints and public service personnel with the DNA Swabs, will be utilized. All material will be in a seal-able plastic bag along with safety education information will be taken home for safe keeping by the student.
Members of the Lodge will be attending the schools conferences later in September with information and forms, and will be available to answer any questions.
