Some days are simply too special to be forgotten.

In April 2025, Beatrice Elementary was the site of an incredible community effort as students, staff, and volunteers came together for our Earth Day Tree Planting Event. Through a wonderful partnership with Keep Beatrice Beautiful, Dig 811, and many community organizations and volunteers, trees were planted across our campus to create a greener, more beautiful future for our students.

More than a year later, those trees continue to grow and thrive, providing beauty, shade, and a daily reminder of what can happen when a community comes together for a great cause.

To help preserve the story of this special day, we have created a permanent page on our website dedicated to the project. The page highlights the event, recognizes the many partners who made it possible, and serves as a lasting reminder of the investment our community has made in Beatrice Elementary and future generations of students.

Recently, the area received another beautiful update as landscaping was added around the commemorative bench, creating a welcoming space to reflect on the impact of this project and the many hands that helped make it happen.

A special thank you goes out to Keep Beatrice Beautiful, Dig 811, Envision Landscapes, and all of the community partners who helped bring this vision to life. Because of your generosity and support, the legacy of this day will continue to grow for years to come.

We invite you to visit the Plant a Tree page and take a look back at a day that truly showcased the power of community and the difference we can make when we work together.

After all, some trees grow roots—and some memories do too. Visit the special spot on our website to remember the day forever: https://beatricepublicschoolsne.sites.thrillshare.com/o/bes/page/plant-a-tree
