On Thursday, October 15, Beatrice Public Schools will be hosting District Cross County. Because of the number of teams, participants, and spectators expected and to facilitate ease of scheduling for all involved, all BPS schools will follow an early dismissal schedule that day.
Friday, October 16: No School and Monday, October 19: No School. These closures are part of our previously scheduled end-of-first-quarter break.
Thank you for your understanding and for making any necessary arrangements for the early dismissal on October 15.

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN LEARNING?
CKLA – SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
We have been reviewing important phonics skills to strengthen our reading and spelling. We also wrapped up our unit on Tall Tales and Fairy Tales, where we explored larger-than-life characters, exciting adventures, and imaginative stories!
MATH
We are working hard on addition and subtraction! Students are practicing different strategies to solve problems accurately and efficiently, while building their confidence with adding and subtracting numbers.
SCIENCE
We are learning all about animal habitats! Students are exploring where different animals live, what they need to survive, and how animals are adapted to their environments.
SOCIAL STUDIES
We are learning about citizenship and what it means to be a good citizen. Students are discussing ways we can be responsible, respectful, helpful members of our classroom, school, and community.

We know those squishies, NeeDohs, fidgets, and tiny treasures are fun—but they can quickly become distractions in the classroom.
To help keep everyone's focus on learning, please leave all toys at home. If a toy comes to school, it will be held until the end of the day and then returned to your child.
If your child uses a fidget as a learning tool, we'd love to partner with you! Please connect with your child's teacher so we can develop a plan that best supports their success.

We love seeing our students bring water bottles to school! Staying hydrated helps keep brains focused, bodies energized, and students ready to learn.
To help keep our classrooms clean and everyone happy, water bottles should contain water only. Please save juice, sports drinks, pop, flavored drink mixes, and other beverages for home.
